When trying to create a workflow to send email when choosing the to address I choose workflow lookup for a user and choose owner and return type as email address. The field type is a people lookup that is attached to active directory. For subject
line a use a field from current item along with text. when I click ok the email to address disappears along with the current item look up in the subject field. The SharePoint server does have connection with exchange since I do receive emails when
I setup alerts. How can I get the workflow to not remove current item look ups when clicking ok or save?

"When a Task Expires" Workflow does not get called again after ReAssigning Task to backup Approver
I copied and modify the Custom Collect Signature workflow and attached it to a content type. I went in to the Change the behavior of a single task" step to reassig the task to a backup approver when a task expires for the original approver in
the "When Task Expires" step. The backup approver is a lookup Sharepoint list. The duration is 1 day for the approver to approve the task. On the first time around "When Task Expires" step is triggered. In that step the task is reassigned to the backup approver and an email is sent to the original approver and backup approver. All is working fine so far after receiving the emails and logging to the workflow history list. However,
after the task has been reassigned the "When Task Expires" step never gets called again although it's the same due date as the original approver. Can anyone help with this issue? The appoval process is a serial approval
process.

“Start a Task Process” in SharePoint Designer 2013 not working when assigning a task to multiple SharePoint Groups
When assigning a task process to 2 or more SharePoint Groups (each of which have 1 member), only the first group receives the task, regardless if you select the task to execute in Serial or Parallel. Using SharePoint Online (Office 365)
Example:
ABC Group has 1 member: Robin
XYZ Group has 1 member: Garth
Setup1: Assign a task using “Start a Task Process” to ABC Group; XYZ Group.
Result (if run in serial): Robin (in ABC Group) receives a Task, she approves it, the workflow ends. Garth (in XYZ Group) never receives a task.
Result (if run in parallel): The same thing happens, the 2<sup>nd</sup> group never gets a task assigned and the workflow ends.
Setup 2: Assign a task using “Start a Task Process” to XYZ Group; ABC Group (just switched the order)
Result (if run in serial): Garth (in XYZ Group) receives a Task, he approves it, the workflow ends. Robin (in ABC Group) never receives a task.
Result (if run in parallel): The same thing happens, the 2<sup>nd</sup> group never gets a task assigned and the workflow ends.
However, if you assign 2 individuals (not inside of SP Groups),it works.
Setup 3: Assign a task using “Start a Task Process” to Robin; Garth
Result (if run in serial): Robin receives a Task, she approves it, Garth then receives a Task, he approves it, the workflow ends.
Result (if run in parallel): Both Robin and Garth receive a Task at the same time, they approve them, the workflow ends.

Workflow suspended in SharePoint 2103
Hi,
I have added content approval and workflow for notification in SharePoint 2013 blog site.
I have added mail notification when one post is created and another mail notification when post is rejected.
So condition is If approval status pending then send mail else if approval status is rejected then another notification mail will trigger.
And the workflow setting is - when item created and when item changed.
So when item created mail triggers but when the post is rejected the workflow suspended and showing the below error.
Please help for the issue

Copying a File Across Subsites
Hi all,
I'm wanting to be able to "publish" (copy) files within one (private) subsite to another (public) subsite using Sharepoint Online and Sharepoint Designer 2013. How might this be possible ?
Here's what I've tried already:
Using the copy function within the Workflow designer, but I only seem to be able to copy the document to another List/Library within the same Subsite. This led me to try to mirror libraries across subsites. This would be an ideal solution, but I couldn't work out quite how it's done. I have tried to save the Library View as a Web Part and insert that into my another subsite, but I come across the error:
"List does not exist. The page you selected contains a list that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user"
I assume this is because it is trying to look for the list within the subsite. Might there be a way of tricking SD2013 into making it look at the right subsite ?
Any help about any of the above would be highly appreciated

I am using SPO-D. I have a need where I have to accept user input and without persisting in SharePoint, pass the information to a web service. Curious which of the following solution options are supported and which is recommended.
1) With Server Side .NET code only no SharePoint code (not an App)
2) Only Client Side JavaScript/JQuery code and no SharePoint code involved (not an App)
3) CAM - Write an App

Connecting external list webpart to filter values
Hello,
I have an external list in sharepoint 2013 on premise which gets data from SQL server. I created another list (regular custom list) in SP where i want to store items which are related to the SQL items. Let's say the list is called "Details"
My idea is to add a webpart in the default DispForm.aspx in the external list which would display the data from the "Details" list and than filter the data accordingly to the item form SQL. So i.e I have an item form the external list which has the column "productID" and i want to list all items from "Details" list which has the same "ProductID".
I know this shouldnt be a problem, but when I'm creating the filter I get a following error:

The connection works when im trying to connect two Sharepoint lists.
Any ideas how to resolve this?

Unable to add Custom Access Application in sharepoint 2013

Project Server 2013 Workflow Task Permissions Breaking Inheritance and Causing Workflow to Cancel
I have an on-premise instance of Project Server 2013 with a workflow that includes anAssigned Task to assign users to Approve or Reject a WF phase. The workflow successfully assigns the task and notifies the user of the task. However, after (or possibly just prior) the user Approves the task, the workflow is automatically cancelled.
By default, the WF Task List is set to inherit permissions. After Approving an item, it appears that the list permissions automatically breaks inheritance, causing the workflow to cancel. This occurs somewhat regularly after resetting permissions to inherit from the parent site. Although there are stretches where the issue doesn't occur. I'm not sure what's causing the list permissions to change.
This issue occurs in both our Dev and Prod environments. Has anyone experienced this issue with permissions breaking inheritance automatically?

Workflow error-status 500 in SharePoint 2013
Hi,
I have an custom workflow with info path form in SharePoint in 2013. In this there are multiple views in info path and based on the approval for each views mail should trigger at each level of approval.
Workflow should start when item is created and changed.
But when item is created, workflow get suspended and showing the following error.

SDP 2013 http webservice call to a list on parent site does not count records
SharePoint Online:
In a list on the parent site I have at least 3 records. Within a workflow on a subsite I would like to count en read the items from this list. The webservice call responses "OK" but no items were count.
Within a list on the same site I can count en read the items with the SPD workflow. So what is neccesary to count en read items on a parent site.

Help with Pause for Duration while in a loop
This is my first SP 2013 work flow so am uncertain how loops after the continuation of workflows.
I have a loop as shown below. It is part of a workflow for a Question and Answer list. This stage checks to see whether the question has been answered. If it has, it sends an email to the person who asked the question. If it has not, it checks to see if the Answer Due Date has passed, then it sends an email to the person who was assigned to answer the question.
I want the person who is assigned to answer the question to get a reminder email every day, thus the Pause for Duration condition. however, if the person answers the question after receiving the reminder, it seems like the workflow would be waiting
a day before the person who asked their question would get their email. Or, since the entire workflow is set to start on list item being changed, would it start over at the beginning of the workflow and thus come to completion at the
end of the first condition in the loop? In other words how do loops work if the list item is changed and the workflow restarted?
There are no mistakes; every result tells you something of value about what you are trying to accomplish.

How to capture comments when a user rejects a task?
When rejecting a task assigned to a user via a SharePoint workflow (SPD 2013), is there an easy way to capture comments? I'd like to do this without having to write code. It would seem logical that if a task was rejected, a comments field would be presented
automatically? Thanks.

Is workflow reporting available in SharePoint 2013?
Is there any reporting around workflows for SharePoint 2013? It appears (based on various posts) that there was a link called "View Workflow Reports" available in 2010 but that it was removed for 2013. My customer would like to see statistics
on active workflows, timestamps of approvals, status, phases, number of workflows in process vs. completed, time between steps, etc. Is any of this available in 2013? Thanks.
