Workflow email URL reference field other than ID in query string?

Is it possible to use an list field other than ID in a hyperlink to the list item in an email body?

So instead of http://domain.com/lists/listname/DispForm.aspx?ID=7

use something like http://domain.com/lists/listname/DispForm.aspx?SomeOtherField=39  as long as that other field is unique of course?

I tried it thinking this should work, but when I click on the link in the email body it takes me to a display form with no data in it and the Edit button is not clickable.

There are no mistakes; every result tells you something of value about what you are trying to accomplish.

Add default meeting rooms in SharePoint 2013

Hi,

I have created Meeting room reservation calendar in SharePoint 2013.

I have selected the week group view as the default view for the calendar.When i open the calendar,i have to add the resources and then add the reservation.

But my requirement is, resources should be always shown in the left side in the below fig in place of "Add Resource" and should not disappear after page refresh. And user should not always add the resources.

Please help

I've created sharepoint 2013 master page through design manager feature in sharepoint 2013 and now i want to hide ribbon bar that appear at the top of each page where my master page is applied.

please tell me how can i hide ribbor bar from the master page so it does not appear for every user i want this ribbon appera to only administrator of the site

I wonder if there is an option in SharePoint to copy the document from source library to destination library with a condition that if the document already exists at destination library then workflow should copy as a newer version under existing document.

I have installed new Sharepoint Server. When i was checking the email alert, it is not working.

I tried to send message from powershell, i get the following error

I have disabled firewall and antivirus. Please let me know why i am not able to send mail

Managed metadata colums are incorrectly added to a content type in the Schema; SharePoint Online; Save site as template

I encountered this problem when trying to save my site as template in SharePoint Online.

I created a Managed Metadata column linked to my termstore and added this to a new content type based on a document.

When trying to save the site as template I encountered an Unexpected Error.
The template was sucessfully saved to the solution store, but could nog be activated.
While trying to activate it again i recieved this error:

The validation of featuredefinition with id 16cfcf04-5543-4846-8b84-2ea93791ff5b has failed, file test2ListInstances\ElementsContentType.xml, line 2029, token 118: The 'AllowDeletion' attribute is not declared.

I downloaded the WSP, changed it to a CAB and opened the ElementsContentType.xml file and searched for the AllowDeletion attribute.
I found it at the <Fieldref> element for my content type.

I looked up the definition for the <Fieldref> element on MSDN (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/aa543225(v=office.15).aspx) and discovered that the AllowDeletion attribute is indeed not declared.

Could this be what is preventing me from saving my site as a template?

(Disclaimer: I know that saving a site as a template is not the recommended way of doing this, but i have no other choice at this time)

Steps for setting up SharePoint 2013 on the same domain as SharePoint 2007

Does anyone have the steps to follow to set up SharePoint 2013 on the same Domain as 2007? We are upgrading all of our servers, Exchange, etc. And because of the differences between 2007 and 2013, we don't want to be forced into upgrading to SharePoint 2013 until we can figure out how the new version of SharePoint has changed since the 2007 version

Error 25004 installing SharePoint Designer 2013 (system error -2147217387)

Hi,

While installing SharePoint Designer 2013 RTM without any preview installed I have this error :

Error 25004. The product key you entered cannot be used on this machine. This is most
likely due to previous Office 2013 trials being installed. (System error: -2147217387)

My office version is 15.0.4615.1000

I found the answer about removing an entry in the registry, but I don't have any with the specified prefix. In my case, I suppose that my Office version is to up to date for a designer rtm installation. So is there an updated version of SharePoint designer ?

Thanks for any suggestion, I don't feel like unstalling Office.

Hi All,

I have a requirement to take a lookup column that allows multiple fields i.e. "New Zealand;Australia;USA", and using a SPD 2013 workflow extract, split and then insert each country into a Dictionary asseparate items so I can iterate over them and update/add items to another list based on each split country.

Looping is fine with the new functionality available in 2013 as is creating the new list items, my question is how to split out each country and insert into the Dictionary as aseparate item?

Prevent Double booking in SharePoint 2013 calendar

Hi,

I want to add double booking and overlapping functionality in SharePoint 2103 calendar.

I have searched a lot, but didn't found anything specific.

Some solution says it can be possible through the Presave() in JavaScript. 

Can you please help me to get this presave() code in JavaScript to prevent the overlapping and double booking functionality in SharePoint 2013 calendar.

Setting default field values for multi-line text fields in lists?

For the multiple lines of text field in a list, I'm using SharePoint Designer 2013 to set a default value for the field, but I need that default value to include rich text formatting (the default value includes a formatted table). Is this possible without having to delve into JavaScript? And if so, how?

Who made the bright decision not to include the design view in SPD 2013?

That just wipes out most of the Power Users out there. 

Does someone have another option?

I can't believe that Microsoft would neglect so many SPD users who do not have a programming background.

Anybody got an example of this? Suspect SPD 2013 can't do it and that it must be using VS 2012.

Want a simple solution of a Doc library where users drop files in, but then, users can only View, Edit, Replace and Delete files they created.

Workflow, File in Document Set: Not Valid Value of the Field if it's Not Empty

Document Set, inside I have file. There is the workflow for the list on Edit event.

File has some field "TestField", the field is shared in Document Set.

Workflow made by Designer is very simple: Write CurrentItem: TestField to the journal.

First, TestField is empty. I change the field and put "Hello". In journal I see "Hello".

Then, I go to change this field one more time and put "Bye". In journal I see "Hello".

So, if the field in item is not empty we can't see new value in workflow and we lose it,remainsthe old version.

I have copied template folder from my authoring to production server which is in USA because of custom images. I restored my site collection. images , v4 master page in site actions -> Site setting not showing , site is host header and resolving using domain name. I created a simple web application without host header and restore same site collection which is showing perfectly when I assign ip then same problem ?Please suggest

We have migrated our Site from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013.

I have InfoPath form which is designed using InfoPath 2010 and and it is admin approval form having C# code.

If I deploy the above said InfoPath form to SharePoint 2013 site. Will it works?

Please provide me the information and guide me.
