Errors were found when compiling the workflow. The workflow files were saved but cannot be run.

Dear All,

I am working on Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2013 (For SharePoint Server 2013 with Enterprise)

I found and faced, below issue while publishing the List Workflow using SharePoint 2010 Platform in SharePoint Designer 2013.  

Errors were found when compiling the workflow. The workflow files were saved but cannot be run.

Advanced: Unexpected error on server associating the workflow

If I Create and Publish the Workflow using share Point 2013 Platform it`s working fine.
My Question is, Why I got the above error while publishing the List Workflow using SharePoint 2010 Platform in SharePoint Designer 2013 And what is the solution for same.

I would be appreciate if anyone suggest me the solution for same.

Adding a Note Board to a Publishing Page

Hi,

I am trying to add a Note Board webpart to a publishing page. It works fine on a webpartpage, but not on a publishing page. Posting results in the following error:

>> There was an error processing this request. Please refresh this page. (written in red, just below the textbox)Note Board - Error message

Adding notes via the Ribbon's Tags and Notes dialog works fine.

With Fiddler one will see the following message in the http post response: There was an error in the callback.

I notice that the __REQUESTDIGEST parameter has the value InvalidFormDigest.

For testing purposes I use the following inherits-values within the Page directive:

  • WebPartPage: Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.WebPartPage,Microsoft.SharePoint,Version=15.0.0.0,Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c
  • Publishing page: Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.PublishingLayoutPage,Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing,Version=15.0.0.0,Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c

Using WebPartPage inheritance, __REQUESTDIGEST gets filled with a nice hash.


The steps I executed:

1. Create a Enterprise Wiki Publishing site

2. Change the Enterprise Wiki page layout and add a webpart zone

3. Add the Note Board webpart to a page that is based on the Enterprise Wiki page layout.

The Note Board renders added notes, but if you try posting a note, this results in the mentioned error.

Can anyone help me with getting the post function working on a publishing page?

How to clear filters between two webpart connections

Hi,

I have two web parts that are connected, one filters the other - the issue I have is that when a user visits the page the only options are to apply the first filter in the row, or to apply no filters. when the page loads. I want all the list items to be displayed when the page is first loaded. 

Can anyone help with this?

Guys,

I am using 2 SharePoint list filter webpart along with an Apply Filter button to filter the contents of a dataview webpart which really is a dataformwebpart(DFWP) created by selecting"Empty Datasource". Filter webparts are configured to show "(Empty)".

I set webpart connections from the 2 filter webpart to the DFWP through parameters created on DFWP and the filtering works great except that there is not way to remove the filter, i configured filter webparts to show (empty) but DFWP is not intelligent to understand it and is still stuck on the last filter.

I tried this with XSLTListView webpart which is generated after selecting a list under dataview and it is intelligent to understand to show all the data when (empty) is selected.

Can anyone shed some light on how i can clear a filter on DFWP without tricks like refreshing or reload the page.

Sharepoint 2013 - Metadata + Documents Library

Hi Guys,

I have searched the site for the following issue I am experiencing but I still cannot find a definite answer.

We have setup a documents library in SP2013. These documents have all been tagged with several metadata categories. The issue I am running into is that I need to have certain tags appear only when the tags before it have been selected.

For example:

Column 1 has 4 selections.

Column 2 has 40 selections.

Ideally I would like to have it setup so that when I select the first metadata (tag), I would like for only 10 of 40 tags to appear, rather then all 40. Is this possible with SP2013? IF so, can someone please share a link or instructional video?

InfoPath 2013 form not displaying all SP list items in repeating table

Hello All,

I'm expecting my IP form to display several rows in a repeating table with data from an SP list, but the repeating table only displays one item - the very first SP list item.

In my IP form, I created a secondary Data Connection to my SP list.

On the form, in the Main data connection, I add a repeating group, under which I add a text element.

I drag the repeating group on to the designer and select Repeating Table from menu.

I configure the text element to bind to the secondary data connection, specifying the field in the data connection, as well as a filter in order to retrieve only list items relevant to the instance of the IP form.

I only see one row in the repeating table - the first list item relevant to the instance of the IP form.

Why don't I see the other SP list items in the repeating table?

This is driving me nuts - any feedback would be appreciated.

Workflow - Office 365

Hi,

  I'm trying to build a workflow for the leave application system that I've developed. When the leave form is submitted, the filled form goes to a document library, which should have a work flow associated with it. But this workflow depends up on the manager under whom the employee is working. 

For ex, an HR person requesting leave has to get it approved from the HR head. So when he goes to the team site and submits this leave application, how do I get the Head of Department details from the filled form to the Workflow's 'Approver' section ? For instance, in the HR example mentioned above, the filled form will have the HOD name, I want this name in the approver section of the workflow, so that the filled form goes to the respective head of the department.

I'm working on Office 365 integration.

I would also like to know if we can auto fill employee details using User Profile Service in an Infopath form in Office 365.

InfoPath 2013 people picker browser button doesn't work on published InfoPath form

I have InfoPath 2013 form with couple of people picker fields. When the form is published and opened in IE the browse button doesn't open a new window. I used fiddler to track but there was result showing on the click of the browse button. I can enter name and use check names that works fine.

When we insert a people picker in Info Path 2013 form and publish the form in
Share Point 2013, when we click on the Browser Button, it doesn't open in a window.

Enabling ribbon is solving the issue. But we don't need Ribbon. Please suggest permanent solution.

InfoPath List form in SharePoint 2013 online

Hi,

I have created a display form using infopath and published the form to a SharePoint list. I have tried adding a button to the display form (read only), but the button is not visible when i am opening the display form for an item. Then i tried adding a picture button to the view. The picture button is getting displayed after unchecking "Hidden in read only forms" option. But, the picture button is getting rendered as disabled.

Please let me know how to proceed with this functionality.

Sharepoint 2013 Dashboard Designer

Hi All,

I've some problems on configuring a connection with my SSAS via Dashboard Designer.

I've one Azure virtual machine with SQL Server 2012 SP1 and where the SSAS are confugured, and another VM with Sharepoint 2013. The SSAS istance in not configured on the default istance, so for the connection i have to specify the port 1432 ( the one that i've configured for the TCP SQL service ).

How do i specify this port for the connection to the SSAS via dasboard designer? If I use the sintaxSQLserverIP\IstanceName,TCP port i retrive the following error:

  

"The Unattended Service Account "Domain\User" does not have access to the following data source server.  Data source location: http://SPservername:31731/Data Connections/5_.000 Data source name: New Data Source Server name: SQLserverIP\IstanceName,TCP port Exception details: Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient.AdomdConnectionException: The 'IstanceName,TCP port' instance was not found on the 'SQLserverIP' server."

It looks like that he believes that the istanceName and tcp port are togheter the istance name...

Any Suggestion?

Sharepoint 2013 Designer - Project Server Workflow Set Project Field Action does not save the custom Field

Hello;

I created a workflow on Sharepoint Designer 2013 which is Sharepoint 2013 workflow - Project Server. I want to use "set project field" action to set custom fields on my project detail pages. Nevertheless, when I use the action, it actualy sets custom fields to value I specified but, not saves them. I can only see values in edit mode of project detail pages on projects. By the way, I check-in the project before use that action. Do you have any ideas?

Sharepoint Assigned to notification

Hello,

I have a TaskList with about 20 columns and i am trying to achieve the following process using workflow:

1. A user creates a task filling fields 1, 2, 3

2. Department manager receives a notification that new task has been created and assigns the engineer

3. Assigned Eng receives notification. 

I seems to have problem with point 3. So far i tried 2 things: 

A. Enabling email notification for "Assigned to:" (default column) which seems to work only if the "Assigned to:" filed is filled when the task is created, not when task is modified.

B. I introduced new column called "Eng assigned" which is a check box with Yes/No values.  When the manager has to assign the Eng, he fills "Assigned to:" and ticks "Eng assigned" filed. Unfortunately this doesn't work either and workflow gets stuck on the  Wait step. This is my workflow: 

I also tried without IF XXX but the result is the same... Can you please advise?

custom task outcomes in sharepoint 2013 designer workflow.

One issue we are facing is with custom task outcomes in sharepoint 2013 designer workflow.

We have 5 stages and in each stage the task form should show different outcomes. For example- user needs gotostage2/4/5 buttons on task form apart from approve/reject. But these outcome buttons need to be dynamically visible. For example goto stage 2/4 only visible in stage 5. is this possible?

Cannot get sub-sites to inherit Editform.aspx from Parent

We are utilizing Project 2013 with SharePoint Online (not PWA) to sync projects into SharePoint and allow employees to monitor and update tasks either from the Specific Projects sub-site that is automatically created via the Project -> SharePoint Sync.

We have altered the default forms of the content type etc. though in order to make certain fields readonly, hide other fields etc. have a small JS function that run on page load.  I can manually apply this through SP Designer but every new sub-site that is created we must manually apply this JS again and again.

Question is:  When created, does the sub-site grab the List editform.aspx from a repo within the parent primary SP site so we can add it to this template and it will automatically take?  if it does, what/where is this file.

Unable to edit master page in SP Designer 2013 with permissions enabled

FYI I am having an issue with SP designer 2013 with SP 2013 hosted.

I've followed all of the suggestion I've read to date:

  • All of the options in Central Admin's _admin/SharePointDesignerAdmin.aspx page are checked
  • All of the options in the Site Collection's _layouts/15/SharePointDesignerSettings.aspx page are checked
  • I am a site owner with full control of the site

In SP Designer 2013, the master page appears by the HTML.  The page is set as the custom Master Page.  I can open the file in advanced edit mode, but cannot save the file.

Do anyone have any additional ideas?

"Error querying data source" connecting to User Profile Web Service with InfoPath 2013 (AD + SQL + SharePoint 2013 VMs on Azure)

Hey everyone,

I used this excellent guide by Keith Mayer to setup a SharePoint 2013 environment in a Windows Azure trial.

There's an AD VM, a SQL Server 2012 VM and a SharePoint 2013 VM.

I setup SharePoint 2013 without issues and everything was working fine, until I decided that I needed to get the logged in users information into a text box in one of the lists.

Until then, I had been using InfoPath 2013 (List settings -> Form settings -> customize current form using InfoPath) to make modifications to the form and everything was working fine.

Following posts on the Internet, I learned that to add logged in user information, I needed to add a connection to http://sharepointsite/_vti_bin/UserProfileService.asmx and I did this without issues. However, as soon as I did this and published the form, I started getting this error every time I opened the form for editing.

I have tried method 2 found here: http://www.jeremytaylor.net/2010/05/24/sharepoint-disable-loopback-check-disableloopbackcheck-dword-in-registry/

I have also tried "Use the Secure Store Service in SharePoint Server 2010 to store alternate credentials for the data connection." found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/981684

I don't know why I'm getting this error and how to fix it. I'm not sure if it's because everything is running on Azure.

I've been looking into this since yesterday and I'm running out of things to try. I think it's a permission issue, but I'm not sure how to troubleshoot it.

If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate that!

Item level permission workflow in share point designer

I need an item level workflow .

I have a document library called important documents.I want that when any sharepoint user upload document on this library only he can see this document and administrator can see .I have written workflow for this .I am using sharepoint designer 2013.These are my steps

Impersonation Step
The contents of this step will run as the workflow author:
Remove Contribute from item in Current Item
Add Full Control to item in Current Item
Replace Full Control of item in Current Item

But problem is that after workflow is run administrator can see the document but user itself can not see.

Help me plzzzzzz.
